Listen: New Untitled Band of Horses Song

In this article…

The popular rock group Band of Horses, known for their songs "Funeral", "Is There a Ghost", "No One's Gonna Love You" and more, has done quite a bit of touring in recent months.  I even saw them back in December when they opened up for My Morning Jacket at Madison Square Garden and it was a wonderful show.  Their third album, "Infinite Arms", was released back in 2010 and was their most successful album to date.  I had been wondering when some new BOH would arrive, but the band answered that with a message to their Facebook followers today.

Hello dear friends! We're entering the final phase of recording our 4th record for you all and wanted to share a few fun details. We've had the pleasure of working on this project with the incredible Glyn Johns behind the console and in the producer's chair. Glyn was just inducted this week into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame so this is a great time to say CONGRATS GLYN! If you're so inclined, look into the incredible albums that Glyn has been a part of. It's mind blowing stuff!

The details for the album release are currently being worked out. Our fingers are crossed for a fall release with lots of shows and things surrounding it. We'll keep you posted as our plans become finalized. We welcome your submissions for album titles. We all know that it's obviously gonna be called 'Night Rainbow 2, the Return of the Rainbow at Night' but feel free to fire away.

Much Love to all of You!

ps here's a live clip of one of the new songs from a surprise acoustic set we did at Lollapalooza in Sao Paulo. hope you like

Hooray on the news of an upcoming album, and double hooray for sharing the new song.  That clip is a nice little number that is currently untitled. Check it out below:

That's a very similar Band of Horses sound, and they have it down pat.  There's a rambling, longing feel to the track, with the slide guitar and easygoing nature of the song.  I can't quite be sure of all the lyrics in the song, but it sounds like lead singer Ben Bridwell is singing about a girl that did him wrong.  His soothing voice could make even the most depressing lyrics sound hopeful and uplifting.

While the track is nothing groundbreaking for the group, it's more of what makes me like them so much.  I'm sure the rest of the album will be more of that, and I can't wait for it to drop.
