Late last night, after Valentine’s Day had officially ended in the East and Central time zones, Mark Sanchez sent his wide receiver Santonio Holmes a tweet, inquiring if he wanted to be his Valentine.
Sanchez and Holmes were notoriously feuding by the end of the season, or at least Holmes was not happy with his quarterback, with Holmes famously sitting out the end of the Jets season as they attempted a comeback against Miami.

No word on whether Holmes accepted or rejected Sanchez's proposal, but this is at least a (small) step in the right direction for the Jets and their fans. The explosive wide receiver isn't going anywhere, so unless Eli's brother puts on a green uniform, those two will be seeing a lot of each other.
By remaining on the roster through the second day of the NFL’s waiver period Tuesday, the talented but troublesome wide receiver will get $15.25 million in guaranteed money over the next two seasons. A clause in Holmes’ contract, signed last offseason, kicked in Wednesday morning.
