Video: Taylor Swift, The Civil Wars Collaborate for

There was a reason that Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars collaborated during the Grammys on Sunday night.  They are both featured prominently on the soundtrack for one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year: "The Hunger Games".  While we have known what artists were going to appear on the album, we finally know the entire track list.  Hitfix.com had the details, so take a look at the artists and titles that were just released:

1. "Safe & Sound" (feat. The Civil Wars) by Taylor Swift
2. "Eyes Wide Open" by Taylor Swift
3. "Abraham's Daughter" by Arcade Fire
4. "The Ruler & The Killer" by Kid Cudi
5. "Run Daddy Run" (feat. Pistol Annies) by Miranda Lambert
6. "Kingdom Come" by The Civil Wars
7. "One Engine" by The Decemberists
8. "Take The Heartland" by Glen Hansard
9. "Lover Is Childlike" by The Low Anthem
10. "Dark Days" by Punch Brothers
11. "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder" by The Secret Sisters
12. "Just a Game" by Birdy
13. "Oh Come & Sing" by Ella Mae Bowen
14. "Rules" by Jayme Dee
15. "Reaping Day" by Carolina Chocolate Drops
16. "Give Me Something" I'll Remember by Neko Case
17. Video "Safe & Sound" (Bonus Video) by Taylor Swift

That's an impressive collection of artists, and they all have the ability to capture the mood of the best-selling book by Suzanne Collins.  The music video that Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars released for "Safe & Sound" does just that.  The video takes place in a remote woods location, with Swift providing some haunting vocal work and The Civil Wars singing and strumming in a cabin.  For those that have read the books, the lyrics will summon imagery from the story.  The song and video are incredibly well-done.  Take a watch below:

The Civil Wars and Taylor Swift are both coming off of Grammy wins, and what better way to ride that momentum into what looks like an awesome soundtrack.  The Decemberists also made one of their tracks available to listen to.  "One Engine" is an incredibly catchy number that you can also listen to here.

I don't usually splurge on movie soundtracks, but this one is shaping up to be quite impressive. Judging from the first two songs, it's already a keeper. I can't wait to hear what The Arcade Fire and Neko Case were able to come up with.
