Landmark Music Festival to Hit Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is getting a music festival all its own. On September 26-27, over 40 bands will descend on our nation's capital for the inaugural Landmark Music Festival for the National Mall. The event will be held at West Potomac Park and features headlining talent in the form of Drake, The Strokes and alt-J with support from great acts like Chvrches, Band of Horses, Ben Howard, Chromeo, Wale, The War On Drugs, George Ezra, Nate Reuss, Lord Huron, The Kills, Twin Shadow and more.

The singular cause behind the event is kickstarting the National Landmark Campaign, an effort to raise awareness for the National Mall and the renovations that need to be done. The Trust for the National Mall--an official partner of the National Parks Service--is leading the efforts. Each year, over 29 million people visit the National Mall, yet there haven't been new renovations for over 29 years. Over $750 million backlogged repairs exists to deteriorating parks and landscapes plus upgrades for a more sustainable and functional park. America's Frontyard deserves better than that.

Early Bird tickets are on sale now for what should be a monumental (pun intended) two days of music. For the full lineup and more festival information, head over to www.landmarkfestival.org.
