SummerStage Announces 30th Anniversary Lineup

For 30 years, City Parks Foundation has been putting on SummerStage and providing great entertainment for New Yorkers. This summer marks the 30th year of SummerStage, and an amazing lineup of performers and performances was announced today.

"SummerStage is the festival that truly celebrates New York City," said Director of Arts & Cultural Programs for City Parks Foundation, Ian Noble in a statement. "From the iconic to the avant garde, from opera to hip-hop, film to circus, there is no other festival like it. Not only do we select our artists to reflect the nature of each neighborhood, but each park and audience becomes part of the adventure and charm of each and every show."

In celebration of this milestone, City Parks Foundation plans to deepen the impact the festival has in neighborhoods throughout New York City. The 2015 season will feature more shows in Central Park and 15% growth in the number of performances offered in neighborhood parks around the city, creating 6-day "mini-festivals" in 8 parks, featuring music, dance, theater, film, circus and family days. In total this new model will add over 20 performances to the fourteen parks SummerStage presents in, bringing more than 140 unique artists to these stages around the city.

This year, those artists and performances include Tedeschi Trucks Band, which kick things off with a free show on May 17, Caribou, Lake Street Dive, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Jungle, Rakim, Unlocking the Truth, Glass Animals, Dr. John, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Troy Ave, Lettuce, and more. Art and dance performances include Beautiful--The Carole King Musical: Songs in Concert, The Wiz: A Celebration in Dance & Music, and more.

The Benefit Concert Series will touch seemingly more genres than ever with a diverse lineup of acts. Here's the complete benefit schedule:

May 19: Mastodon/Clutch/Graveyard
June 17: Lindsey Stirling
June 24: The Kooks/Atlas Genius/Joywave
