The Black Keys
Performing July 8th, 2013
The Black Keys have set a release date for their newest album, “El Camino.” That date is December 6th. How did they decide to get this message out? They went with an unconventional method. The band put out a viral video FunnyOrDie.com. Here is the video, starring Bob Odenkirk:
That's one way to get the word out. The new album was produced with help from Danger Mouse, who is famous for The Grey Album and Gnarls Barkley, his collaboration with Cee Lo Green. That guy produces some amazing music, and I'm excited to see what he does with the Keys and their gnarly sound.
The new album will be a return to form for the band, who had this to say to Hitfix.com:
Of the new set, [Dan] Auerbach, who is joined by drummer Patrick Carney in the band, said “I think where this record is going to shine for me is playing the songs live. This record is more straight ahead rock and roll— raw, driving and back to basics.”
That's music to the ears of anyone who likes live music. The Black Keys won three Grammy Awards for their last album, “Brothers”, including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for the hit song “Tighten Up.”
